For a Hypervolt 2, start charging checks with the supplied charger, not whether a spare plug happens to fit. Hyperice's operating instructions specify its supplied double-insulated 18V DC charger, model MX24Z2-1801000, and say not to charge overnight or leave the device unattended while charging. These instructions are for the Hypervolt 2, not every Hypervolt generation or other massage gun. [1]
Read both labels before connecting anything
Confirm the device is a Hypervolt 2, then compare the charger label with the model listed in the manual. The manual specifies the supplied charger; matching a voltage number or connector shape alone is not an authorization to use another adapter. If the supplied charger is missing or its identity is unclear, ask Hyperice to identify the appropriate replacement for your device before charging. [1]
A useful ownership record contains the device name, serial or identifying label, charger model, and the manual you used. Keep a clear photograph of the labels for your own support request. This avoids trying to reconstruct the setup from a listing title later.
Choose the charging location deliberately
The manual warns against blocked air openings, use under a blanket or pillow, and soft surfaces where openings can be obstructed. It also says to keep the cord away from heated surfaces and not to operate a device with a damaged cord or plug, after damage, or after it has gotten wet. [1]
For the charging check, use a dry location where you can observe the device and where fabric will not cover it. Keep the cord from becoming a carrying handle or being trapped under equipment. If damage or water exposure is involved, stop ordinary troubleshooting and use the manufacturer's service route instead of repeatedly reconnecting power.
Understand the battery light
The Hypervolt 2 charging instructions say to connect the DC end of the supplied 18V charger to the port at the bottom of the handle and connect the charger to a wall outlet. The LED band pulses during charging, with colors ranging from red at low charge to green. A fully illuminated, steady green band indicates a full charge. [1]
The manual allows up to four hours for charging before first use. Treat that as the manufacturer's first-use instruction, not a universal diagnosis for every later charging problem. A light pattern is useful evidence for support, but it does not independently prove the condition of every internal component.
Do not make deep discharge a routine
Hyperice says the battery can be recharged at any level and does not recommend fully depleting it to the red LED level. The instructions also say to unplug after charging and before using the device. [1]
Build a routine around those instructions: observe charging, disconnect when finished, and put the charger away before use. Do not borrow a discharge-and-recharge ritual from a different battery product or assume overnight charging is required to restore performance.
What to send support if charging is unclear
- Exact device and charger labels.
- Whether the LED band pulses, stays steady, or never illuminates.
- What happened before the problem, including any drop, moisture exposure, or cord damage.
- The charging duration you actually observed, without leaving the device unattended to extend the test.
The manual prohibits removing screws or attempting disassembly. A charging problem is not permission to open the handle, replace cells, or improvise a power supply. This checklist helps you describe the issue accurately; it does not replace Hyperice's diagnosis or establish that a malfunctioning device is safe to use. [1]
