What We Do

MassageGunGuide is an independent research site dedicated to percussive therapy, muscle recovery, and massage gun technology. We exist because the massage gun market is flooded with sponsored content, brand-funded reviews, and affiliate-first rankings that tell you what pays the most commission — not what actually works best.

We do something different: we aggregate and analyze verified buyer reviews at scale, cross-reference with peer-reviewed clinical research, and synthesize what thousands of real people with real training experience have actually reported after using these devices. No press samples. No brand relationships. No pay-to-play rankings.

Our Methodology: Group B

We call our approach "Group B" — aggregation-first research that treats verified buyer reviews as primary data, not anecdote. Here's how it works:

• Review aggregation: We collect verified purchase reviews from Amazon for each product, typically pulling 5,000–120,000+ reviews per device.
• Keyword frequency analysis: We process each review set through keyword analysis targeting the dimensions that matter most to real buyers — noise, battery, stall force, ergonomics, durability, return rate.
• Community cross-reference: We corroborate Amazon data with sentiment from r/fitness, r/physicaltherapy, r/weightlifting, and other relevant communities to catch patterns the review platform may not surface.
• Clinical literature review: For guides with health implications (technique guides, comparison articles), we review the available peer-reviewed research on percussive therapy and self-myofascial release.
• Verified purchase weighting: We apply a 3x weight multiplier to verified purchases over unverified reviews to reduce the impact of brand manipulation and incentivized reviews.

What We Don't Do

• Accept free products in exchange for coverage
• Rank products based on commission rates
• Take payment for placement in rankings or guides
• Publish content under brand-sponsored agreements
• Let affiliate relationships influence our data-driven conclusions
